Every painting is unique and memorable, while the level design itself flows smoothly from one end to the other. There are no control issues to ruin the atmosphere, which allows you to fully enjoy the game and do your best to navigate the tricky levels. Gameplay-wise, everything is smooth and precise, exactly how a platformer needs to be. However, as it turns out, they are not ordinary pictures and the characters soon find themselves able to explore them at will, which makes for some very artistic levels and quite the unusual atmosphere. The game’s story talks about Rayman and his friends stumbling into a collection of old and mysterious paintings, all of which look gorgeous to say the least. Hence, there shouldn’t be any reason not to give this a try, especially if you are a fan of the genre. However, the franchise came back recently and it did an excellent job at resurrecting itself, because Rayman Legends is certainly a brilliant platformer and a good video game. The Rayman series had a good run a few years ago, but it somehow slowly disappeared after that, even if everyone was pretty satisfied with it. Another adventure with Rayman and his friends series, others don’t take change very well and are lost forever, for better or worse. While some manage to adapt just fine, such as the Super Mario Bros.
